Recorded and transmitted live to Discovery Channel then globally.
A very interesting project by Melbourne film maker, Robert Gough & Discovery Channel. Typical of the night, it started with blustery winds and scudding clouds low down, so the first part of the eclipse was obscured by cloud.
The elevation was approx 10-degrees rising in the east. Seeing conditions were 1 out of 10 at best. However, not a bad result and it could have been a complete cloud out.
A Nikon D200 was used on a Takahashi FS-102 for various media magazine articles
Image processed to reveal the background of stars - often overlooked when processing for optimum eclipse colour etc.
Computer Screen capture, thanks to my astro mate, Laurie Priest.
The broadcast image/s from the SCO to Melbourne, then the UK, back to Discovery in Taiwan, then around the global distribution
The camera used for web casting was very generously donated by The Imaging Source in Germany.
