The sky was cloud covered until a few minutes before the eclipse started, and again towards the end where I lost a couple of timed shots. Start 2.18, Mid, 3.18. end 4.18. times rounded up.
Due to the gale force winds, it was impossible to open the main dome, so I used my little EQ6 mount on the patio, which afforded sufficient wind protection between the north & south sections of the house.
Equipment used: A DELL laptop with EQMOD and Nikon Capture Control for control & auto sequence image taking. The main scope is a Williams Optics Megrez 90 APO with a Nikon D300 attached at prime focus..
A Nikon electronic remote was also connected as an override in the event that clouds intervened. As it turned out I lost maybe 2-3 shots due to cloud cover. I had hoped to have broadcast this event live to Germany, but until after the event I did not have a wireless link to the laptop. Maybe better luck next time!
